It is of course Atari who challanged the German standard, and I am just
one of the people who support Atari in that, because I think ^W really should
stand for close window. It is also hard to explain to any English speaking
person that ^W should mean 'Cycle windows' because Germand for 'cycle'
is 'wechseln'. If we want to reach an agreement, everyone is going to
have to make sacrifices!
And I know that almost any Americain and British program since the Atari
proposition *HAS* adopted the ^W for close window.
Perhaps we should try and reach a 'dual' agreement and have our forthcoming
proposal demand that each application allows a choice between the
'German' and the 'Global' standard...
